About the Program

Social Work Graduate Program aims to educate qualified experts renewing and improving their professional knowledge by following national and international developments in the field of social work, mastering basic sciences, contributing to social change, having problem-solving skills, empowerment and liberation to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, groups, and society with analytical thinking skills.
Facilitate the inclusion of sensitive people and risk groups who are socially excluded and lonely, take responsibility and/or initiative in individual and team works; encourage the formation of policies that comply with the ethical rules of the profession.

Education Opportunities

Social Work Master's Program aims to provide students with a strong background in sociology, social research, psychology, social psychology, social anthropology and social policy issues as part of the social work education. In this context, graduate students will receive the title of a qualified Social Service Specialist with their specialty courses and thesis.

To provide general information about research stages and research ethics to graduate students and to prepare them to do research in health sciences. To ensure that students gain knowledge, awareness and sensitivity for ethics in research and publication and accordingly conduct researches and publish them. The course content is research planning, sources of error in a research, sampling methods, determination of the appropriate sample size, research types, report writing, concept of research ethics, related concepts, controversial research ethics topics, clinical researches, non-interventional clinical researches, animal researches, frequently encountered research ethics problems and prevention methods, recognition of violation of ethics, what should be done in health sciences.

In this course, graduate students develop the ability of graduate students to search the literature related to the thesis subject with the support of the thesis advisor, to organize information based on the literature, to use and develop the data collection tool, to collect and analyze the research data, to analyze the appropriate data, to tabulate and interpret the research findings, It was aimed to be able to draw and make recommendations and report the research and to defend the research. Ethical committee preparation, validity and reliability of the thesis subject to be carried out and the beginning of the study are based on the start of the thesis writing phase and the conduct of the thesis study.

Students determine their interest fields, review the literature, evaluate, plan the reseach process and report their studies. Students’ review of the literature on a subject they are interested in, preparing a presentation, performing the presentation verbally, developing themselves on the subject and defending it in a way that will dominate the subject. Literature review related to thesis or study, planning of the study, analysis of data, developing presentation ability, planning of thesis or study, definition of evidence-based practice, selection of appropriate statistical methods, preparation of presentation, starting of the current literature on the study and the beginning of the thesis preparation and committee presentation is the course content.
