CIU 2021-2022 Fall Semester Graduation Ceremony Day 1 sessions were held

Cyprus International University (CIU) 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester Day 1 sessions were held in-person at the Çevik Uraz Conference Hall.

CIU Administration, Faculty Deans, Directors of Institutes and Schools, and faculty members  attended the ceremony. In Session 1, students graduating from Institute of Graduate Studies and Research,  Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences received their diplomas, while in the second session graduates of Faculty of Engineering and School of Applied Sciences were awarded their degree documents.

CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri delivered the opening speech of the Graduation Ceremony. In his address, Dr. Nadiri emphasized the fact that students had to go through a long and tiring period because of the ongoing pandemic all around the globe.  ”Your determination  and continuous efforts are beyond praise, and thus you have made primarily your families and then all of us here very proud.”

Nadiri said 883 students from 42 different countries earned their  associate, undergraduate and graduate degrees and thus  the total number of students who have graduated from CIU to date has reached  21000.

Prof. Dr. Nadiri stated that the number of academic publications has been continuously increasing and “we are making progress in the direction we have set forth for  our institution which is to further the quality of education  and become a university  with internationally competitive education standards.  Our graduate programs are rapidly  expanding which prompted us to  hire new faculty members and also recruite new doctoral students.”

Nadiri also addressed the students in his talk expressing his wish that “wherever your success story takes you, please keep us informed about your life and progresses you make in your career. Our alumni  have become a large family; please continue to keep in touch with us and also come and visit with us as a member of this large family.”

The Graduation Ceremony was televised live on the Official YouTube Channel of CIU.  Following the presentation of the diplomas, the ceremony ended with collective photo shooting and the Cap Throwing ceremony.
