The CIU 2021-2022 Spring Semester Welcoming and Orientation Days have begun

The 2021-2022 Academic Year Spring Semester Student Greeting and Orientation Days, organized by the Social Activities and Clubs Coordinate, connected to the Cyprus International University (CIU) Student Development and Counseling Center, has begun.

Advising that the 2021-2022 Academic Year Spring Semester welcoming and orientation program has been organized for the students who are registering for the first time at the university, CIU Social Activities and Clubs Coordinate Coordinator Selen Akün Kalaycı noted that with these events, they aim to introduce the CIU campus, university life, and Northern Cyprus to the students.

Explaining that during the spring semester they mostly greet students coming from international countries, Kalaycı noted that as well as the high-quality education opportunities they offer as a university, they want to provide students who come to the island for the first time with the opportunity to get to know the country they are studying in and to mingle with the local society and culture.

Advising that the CIU Welcome and Orientation Days began with the meeting of students at the Ercan Airport on the 4th February, Kalaycı stated that they continued with introducing the university facilities.

Kalaycı noted that the orientation program will continue with entertaining activities and cultural city tours organized between 4th February and 12th March, and continued, “We want to offer the opportunity for students who are away from their families and their loved ones, to begin their life of education with a good motivation. We also aim to ease the adaptation process of our students who have come to a new country”.

Adding to her statement, Kalaycı informed that within the scope of the Orientations Days, there will also be organizing a series of activities, such as a cinema showing and the student clubs and societies festival.
