CIU Department of Architecture is ranked among the World’s best Architecture programs

Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture (FFADA) Department of Architecture ranked 125th in the world list of architecture programs.

In the evaluation made by BEE BREEDERS which is an international platform that organizes and hosts design competitions, CIU Department of Architecture was entitled to be included in the ranking due to its success in the competitions it participated in around the world.

CIU  FFADA Assistant Dean and Chair of the Department of Architecture Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara said BEE BREEDERS evaluates the architecture programs around the world based on the international competitions they participate in, adding CIU Department of Architecture was announced on the web site of this organization ranking 125th among the best Architecture Programs in the world.

Atakara said they were very proud of the achievements of their students in international competitions, and thanks to the successful results they achieved in these competitions, they rightfully deserved to be included in the  BEE BREEDERS list of rankings.

The Department also received a congratulatory message from BEE BREEDERS, and Atakara said this would play a decisive role in the careers of the students and also act as an incentive to the department.

Students who participate in international competitions are supervised by Dr. Atakara as well as Assist. Prof. Dr. Ersan Rıza; students who receive awards at these competitions  will include  these in their CVs and this would be recorded as an added value to their careers.

Prof. Dr. Atakara stated that Arman Perot and Amanuel Bayu ranked 3rd place in the world famous Inspireli Competition while Öznur Pınar Çetin ranked first in the MIMED Competition with her graduation project.

Atakara pointed out that CIU FFADA is in a pioneering and innovative position in the field of fine arts and architecture with its expert staff and physical facilities. He also added that they were supporting design workshops with laboratories. He said their aim was to  train graduates who can analyze using experimental education methods and have a global vision.

Atakara concluded by saying the successes of their students and graduates reflect the quality of the education they receive. The Department of Architecture, also accredited by the Architecture Accreditation Board (AAB), provides its students with the opportunity to develop their skills while receiving education in the renovated advanced technology model workshop as well as the sustainability skill workshops.
