CIU Faculty of Pharmacy Holds Orientation Program for New Students
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Cyprus International University (CIU) organized an orientation event for first-year students newly enrolled in the faculty for the 2026–2027 Academic Year. The event provided students with information about the faculty’s academic structure, educational processes, internship requirements, and the university’s student information systems, covering key aspects of pharmacy education.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aslan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered the opening remarks and introductory presentation. He informed students about the faculty’s educational programs, academic staff, laboratory facilities, and national and international accreditations. Emphasizing the importance of the pharmacy profession, Aslan highlighted the value of maintaining communication with academic staff, asking questions, and actively contributing to their professional development throughout their studies. He also reminded students to regularly follow announcements published through the Student Information System (SIS) and Moodle.
During the event, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sami Boşnak provided information about internship procedures, the faculty’s requests and applications system, and student clubs. Highlighting the important role of internships in pharmacy education, Boşnak explained that students must complete a total of 120 working days of internships before graduation. He also outlined internship durations, eligible institutions, required application documents, and important considerations throughout the process, emphasizing that students should review the relevant regulations in advance.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Lara Alhajj explained how students can use the SIS and Moodle platforms, register for courses, apply for examinations, follow academic announcements, and submit student requests. Noting that students can access course content and academic materials through these digital systems, Alhajj emphasized the importance of seeking guidance from academic advisors on matters such as course selection and enrolling in additional courses.
The program concluded after students’ questions were answered and further information was provided about the faculty’s academic and administrative procedures.
