CIU Fall Graduation Ceremony with a Digital-First Approach
Cyprus International University (CIU) is preparing to bring an innovative dimension to graduation ceremonies with a digital stage management system that will be implemented for the first time in Northern Cyprus as part of the 2025–2026 Academic Year Fall Semester Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony will be held on 29–30 January 2026 at Çevik Uraz Conference Hall, where nearly one thousand associate, undergraduate, and graduate candidates will receive their graduation certificates.
On the first day of the graduation ceremony, Thursday, 29 January 2026, the first session, starting at 10:00, will include graduates from the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, who will be presented with their diplomas. The second session, to be held at 14:00 on the same day, will feature the graduation of students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Communication, the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, the Faculty of Law, and the School of Tourism and Hotel Management.
On the second day, Friday, 30 January 2026, the first session at 10:00 will be dedicated to graduates of the Faculty of Engineering, the School of Applied Sciences, and the Vocational School, who will receive their certificates of achievement. The final session, scheduled for 14:00, will include graduates from the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the School of Health Sciences, the Vocational School of Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, who will share the joy of graduation. After each session, graduates will gather on the lawn area for the traditional cap-throwing ceremony and group photo session.
As part of the graduation ceremony, a QR code–based digital stage management system, to be implemented for the first time in Northern Cyprus, will be used. Within this framework, graduating students will be provided with personalized QR codes prior to the ceremony. Just before stepping onto the stage, graduates will scan their QR codes to be integrated into the system, allowing their names and information to be displayed on the digital platforms used throughout the ceremony.
Names will be announced using artificial intelligence–supported text-to-speech technology, delivered in accents appropriate to the students’ countries. Once the QR codes are scanned, the stage order will be automatically generated by the system, and the entire flow of the graduation ceremony will be monitored in real time through the digital infrastructure. With this initiative, CIU aims to both increase organizational efficiency through the effective use of technology and provide graduates with a modern and contemporary graduation experience.
