CIU Graduate Among Top 20 Inspiring Women
Öznur Pınar Çer, a 2014 graduate of the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, at Cyprus International University (CIU), and co-founder and principal architect of MASK Architects, is a renowned Turkish architect and designer. All Around Worlds noted, “Öznur’s journey has been marked by her resilience and determination to overcome skepticism towards unconventional ideas,” adding, “Her pioneering work has been recognized worldwide.”
Speaking to the CIU News Agency, Çer said, “First and foremost, I am extremely honored to be selected as one of All Around Worlds’ ‘World’s 20 Most Inspiring Women’ for 2025. I consider this recognition a collaborative effort with my MASK Architects team and collaborators.” “The values and disciplined educational approach my university instilled in me played a significant role in my professional life. The opportunities and support my university offered played a significant role in this success.” Çer added, "As a UKÜ graduate, I can confidently say that my university not only provided me with academic knowledge but also taught me how to dream, to boldly bring projects to life, and to push boundaries. Being recognized by All Around Worlds is a reminder of how crucial these values are."
Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara, Dean of the CIU Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture, said, “We are deeply honored and proud that our graduate and founder and chief architect of MASK Architects, Ms. Öznur Pınar Çer, has been named one of the ‘20 Most Inspiring Women in the World’ by All Around Worlds.” Atakara emphasized that Çer's pioneering work in architecture and design, her innovative perspective, and her bold steps have served as a powerful source of inspiration not only in her own professional journey but also in the lives of young women and aspiring architects. "Her achievements are the most concrete demonstration of her courage to transcend traditional norms, her determination to bring creative ideas to life, and her vision on a universal scale," he said.
