CIU hosted Karpaz Vocational School Students

Cyprus International University (CIU) Hair Care and Beauty Services Program held an informative seminar about the  department and also conducted a Dermapen training course to the Karpaz Vocational High School students.

Chair of the CIU Hair Care and Beauty Services Program Dr. Vali Gjinali informed the high school students about the courses offered, and upon students' requests,  he explained stage make-up and hair tips.

Stating that high school students always come up with questions regarding the school and  the department, Gjinali said, “In line with the demands from the students, they offer training especially on haircuts, special effects make-up, bun making, braiding, nail decoration and gel nail making. We also give them the opportunity to practice these.”

CIU Hair Care and Beauty Services Program Lecturer Fatma Öksüz told the students about microneedling procedure used in skin care.

Pointing out that there are certain techniques used in the microneedling procedure, Öksüz stated that they use the dermapen device in the school's workshop to carry out these procedures. Öksüz stated that the main purpose of the Dermapen device is to support the elastic collagen fibers in the skin, and that this way cells are renewed. It is also used in wrinkle treatments and spot treatments.

Öksüz reminded that high school students do not have the chance to apply the said application in their own schools, and emphasized that students will have the opportunity to observe this procedure during their associate degree education.
