CIU Music Club begins to give music lessons to its members

The Music Club, which is connected to the Social Activities and Clubs Coordinate, located within the Cyprus International University (CIU) Student Development and Counseling Center, has begun to give piano lessons to their members.

The Music Club President, Janberk Cicu, stating that the members of the club are increasing each day, advised that the purpose of the club was not only to organize performances, but at the same time to organize training, invites of experts and artists, as well as workshops.

The Music Club Vice President Ozan Kılavuz however, explaining that they wanted to evaluate the semester holidays especially, went on to say, “We began giving piano lessons to our members from the beginning of the semester holidays”.

Adding that the piano lessons were given by Alexander Bold and Ömer Olgacer, who are both also members of the club, Kılavuz noted that the lessons continue to be provided within the campus 3 days a week.

CIU Social Activities and Clubs Coordinator Selen Akün Kalaycı, noting that the Music Club is one of the oldest and prominent clubs of the university, went on to state, “We have very valuable and talented students within the club. The fact that these students who are experts in their fields, wish to share their knowledge and experiences with their friends make us very happy”.

Expressing that they plan to continue their workshops with different instruments, Kalaycı shared the information, “Students from a number of different countries come together within the clubs. The music club in particular has members from different countries. We will organize different events where we will include their cultural music and instruments”.
