CIU provides training to Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources personnel on the subject of stress and anger management

Within the framework of the cooperation between the CIU and the TRNC Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Livestock Department Management; water products personnel who are responsible for investigative enquiries, attended a two-day training session on "Stress and Anger Management".

During the certificate ceremony of the training that was provided by the CIU Faculty of Education Academic Staff, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gürcan Seçim, TRNC Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu and CIU Rector, Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri made speeches.

Çavuşoğlu: “If you do not update your information, you will definitely fall behind”
In his speech, stating that being an informed individual is insufficient and that this information should continuously be updated, Minister Çavuşoğlu went on to say, “If you do not update your information, you will fall behind”.

Talking in relation to the organization of in-service education since he has taken this position, Minister Çavuşoğlu noted that they have since completed 145.000 training hours.

Advising that their aim is to establish a sustainable structure in the field of agriculture, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that they have completed the work in relation to auditing and measuring.

Nadiri: “The importance of training increasingly continues”
In his speech, noting that the Covid-19 pandemic has seriously changed our lifestyles, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Nadiri continued “However, life continues. While we continue with our work lives, it is important to benefit from technology and adapt to new the normal in education”.

Pointing out that during the pandemic process and after, it is necessary for services to continue more qualified and with more quality, Nadiri went on to advise, “In this sense, the importance of education increasingly continues”.

Expressing his satisfaction with the protocol that has been established with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Prof. Dr. Nadiri added that they give great importance to state and university cooperation’s, as well as university and sector cooperation’s.

Seçim: “When anger is not managed, it can lead to negative outcomes”
Speaking in relation to stress and anger management during the 2-day training program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seçim informed about the reasons behind the production of such emotions and gave information in relation to stress and anger management.

Explaining that anger is a natural emotion that generally is developed in response to unwanted situations, or needs and expectations that have not been met, Seçim noted that if it is not managed, negative outcomes could be produced.

Expressing that the main reason for the anger emotions emergence is due to the way the individual interprets the stimuli that is related to their anger, and the meanings that they attribute to said stimuli, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seçim referred to the methods that could be applied to diffuse anger in situations that are perceived as negative, and the routes to planning the best response and putting this into action.

Giving information during the training in relation to prior prevention against possible stressful sources, Seçim also took on the subject of techniques in the handling of possible stress in unexpected situations.
