CIU SPES applied tests to Cihangir Sports Club, in order to determine the fitness levels of their players

Cyprus International University (CIU) School of Physical Education and Sports (SPES), applied field and laboratory tests to Cihangir Sports Club A team players, in order to determine their pre-season conditional levels. The tests in question were carried out to determine their characteristics in strength, endurance, speed, and mobility.

The measurements which were carried out at CIU Sports Complex, CIU Arena, were carried out on the athletes under the supervision of the School of Physical Education and Sports Director, Prof. Dr. Ali Emre Erol, Specialist Physiotherapist Sema Özden, Dr. Sonay Dericioğlu, Academic Staff Şeyda Çelik Karahançer and Physiotherapist Sergen Summakoğulları.

Training programs will be prepared by expert training scientists within CIU SPES
Director of the School, Prof. Dr. Ali Emre Erol, informing that the tests will be repeated in periods of four and eight-weeks, went on to say, "In line with the data obtained, group and individual training programs will be prepared within the team by expert training scientists working within CIU SPES, and it will be followed whether the trainings have met their purpose".

Expressing that as SPES, similar services will be provided in the field of sports performance in the TRNC, Erol added that in terms of academic and practice, they will help to acquire up-to-date and more functional habits.

Noting that these practices carried out to serve the community, also provide a chance for young academicians and CIU SPES students to improve their practice skills, Erol continued, “By providing a service in all sporting branches, we will contribute to performance and provide administrative staff support, with our graduates and students, who are ready to serve in the field due to the quality of education they have received”.

Speaking about the 2021-2022 season, Erol wished that this season will be successful and healthy for individuals and team competitors in all branches.
