The CIU Student Council elections

For the first time this year, CIU has begun an election process for the formation of a student council, in an effort to protect the rights of the registered associate, undergraduate and graduate students, in the development of their educational, health, sports, and cultural needs, in order for them to establish effective communication between the CIU administrative bodies and the students, communicating the expectations and wishes of the students to the governing bodies, as well as ensuring the participation of the students in the decisions on education and training.

In a statement made by the CIU Institutional Communication and Public Relations Directorate, the Student Council election process began on the 24th November with the candidate applications, and will come to an end on the 8th December with the election of the Departmental, School, Preparatory School and Institute representatives.

The elections, which will be carried out with electronic votes due to the COVID-19 pandemic that is being experienced across the world, will see the results announced to the students electronically (Student Information System) also.

Expressing within the statement that the election of the Student Council is also an important initiative in terms of establishing a democratic and independent university environment, it was also noted that the representatives that will be elected will play an important role in establishing and strengthening the relationship between the students and the administration.
