Cooperation Protocol Signed Between CIU and EMU

A protocol covering academic cooperation was signed between Cyprus International University (CIU) and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). During the meeting held at CIU, it was decided that the two universities would collaborate on academic staff and student exchange, educational activities, and joint initiatives in conferences and symposiums.

Within the scope of the protocol, the development of joint research projects and submitting applications for these projects with shared teams are also planned.

The meeting was attended by CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Erbuğ Çelebi, CIU Board of Trustees Member Prof. Dr. Ahmet Adalıer, and CIU Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Azimli, CIU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cem Tanova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erkay Özgör, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tamer Tulgar, as well as EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, EMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Karatepe, and Deputy Director of the Rectorate, Kazım Hakverdi.

CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Erbuğ Çelebi noted that this cooperation between the country’s two well-established universities would make significant contributions to higher education. He emphasized that combining strengths in education and research could lead to more comprehensive studies.

CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that the academic expertise of CIU and EMU would further develop through this protocol, adding that the agreement aims to strengthen existing cooperation and increase joint academic activities.
