Countdown has started for the 22nd CIU Spring-Fest
Due to the Pandemic, Cyprus International University Spring Fest was put on hold, but this year it will be held on May 10-14th and “diversity, inclusion and transformation” has been determined to be this year’s theme. The 22nd Festival will be held on CIU campus where popular local and foreign artists and groups will perform for 4 days.
The Festival will start with Norm Ender’s concert and for the closing, it will be Garmiani and Sanjin’s performances. Telsim and KKTCell are the communication sponsors and NRG Play is the media sponsor of the 22nd Spring Festival. Students and the public will have the chance to have fun during these four unforgettable days.
Social Activities and Student Clubs Coordinator Selen Akün Kalaycı gave information about the event program, saying the student profile at the university is varied based on the countries they come from, and said that their aim of this year's Spring Festival is to organize activities that appeal to all students who highlight this diversity. Noting that the artists selected for this year's events were chosen based on the demands and opinions of the students, Kalaycı also added that their aim was to include students in the organization process of this year’s festivities.
Within the framework of the concert program, Kalaycı said, “the performances will be in the following sequence: May 11th Norm Ender, May 12th alternative rock artist Madrigal, May 13th Rams from England known for their rap and hip-hop music, and world-famous DJs Garmiani and Sanjin on May 14th at the closing concert.” Kalaycı also said all events were open to the public.
Kalaycı stated that during the festival, in addition to the concerts, there will be many activities and performances organized with the active participation of students and said, “there will be the CIU Survivor Competition and the sustainability workshop of international student societies will be in a competition format. In addition to sports tournaments, traditional iron man and iron woman competitions will take place at the CIU Arena. The Scottish Ceilidh dance show and the CIU's Voice competition organized by the Music Club will be held on the last day of Festival.
