Emotional Intelligence Training Program Launched
The Emotional Intelligence Training Program, organized annually by the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center (PDAREM) of Cyprus International University (CIU), has started again this spring semester. The five-week program will be held every Wednesday and will be conducted by PDAREM specialists Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eliz Volkan, Sinan Törer, and Zeynep Suiçmez.
The training consists of five modules: Awareness and Self-Management, Emotions and Empathy, Emotional Intelligence and Emotion Coaching, Perceived Stress and Coping Strategies, and Emotional Intelligence in Daily Life. Combining a scientific theoretical framework with practical applications, the program aims to help students develop skills in recognizing and managing their emotions, strengthening interpersonal communication, and adopting healthier ways to cope with stress.
Conducted in both Turkish and English, the program is designed to be open to students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds. Participants, who complete all modules successfully, will be entitled to receive a certificate, and end-of-term workshops will support the practical application of the skills gained.
The program aims to enhance not only students’ academic development but also their emotional awareness, communication skills, and ability to cope with stress. Through such structured initiatives, PDAREM continues its approach of fostering well-rounded, conscious, balanced, and resilient individuals.
