Experts Gather at CIU for Sustainable Agriculture

Cyprus International University (CIU) will host the 4th International Conference on Sustainable Ecological Agriculture (4th ICSEA) between April 25–27. Aiming to provide a significant scientific platform in the fields of agriculture and environmental sciences, the conference will open global discussions on sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural solutions.

Organized in collaboration with universities from Turkey, Mongolia, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan, the event will address topics such as modern agricultural practices, biodiversity, water and soil management, biotechnology, and agricultural economics.

The conference hosted by CIU will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, from academics to industry representatives, encouraging scientific collaboration. The event is also supported by local companies Biren Tarım and Güngör Tarım.

Speaking to the CIU News Agency about the conference, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Erayman, emphasized the importance of sustainability in all areas, stating, “Resources are now very limited, and the concentration of the human population is causing ecological imbalance.” Noting that agricultural lands are not expanding, but rather shrinking day by day, Erayman said, “Therefore, we must focus on methods and systems that yield the highest productivity per unit area, using the least input to produce the highest quality agricultural products.” He underlined that the International Conference on Sustainable Ecological Agriculture is a significant opportunity for this and added, “It will also be an extremely important event in terms of promoting both our university and our country.” Erayman also emphasized that CIU will make a substantial contribution to scientific activities in this field.
