A research conducted in recent years indicated that hot weather manifests itself with symptoms such as stress, nervousness, lack of attention, sleep problems, fatigue, unwillingness, anxiety, intolerance and lack of energy.

Underlining that there may be difficulties even in continuing routine works due to the heat, Haşimoğulları said, “You may have difficulties especially in providing motivation”.

Specialist Psychologist Haşimoğlu stated that the acceleration of heart rhythm and frequent breathing due to hot weather triggers panic attacks, and "It can also increase stress in individuals with symptoms of depression and create a state of unhappiness".

Reminding that there is a decrease in the number of possible outdoor activities due to the hot summer months, Haşimoğulları said, "It is important for social relations and physical health to continue activities carried out outside without being exposed to excessive heat".

Drink plenty of fluids

Haşimoğlu highlighted the importance of avoiding exposure to excessive heat, paying more attention to health, consuming plenty of fluids and taking care of regular sleep in this process, and also emphasized that maintaining relationships by establishing more empathy in the workplace, at home or in social settings is necessary for psychological health.

Individuals' constant focus on negative thoughts is a factor that increases stress so, the primary goal is to control stress.

Çise Haşimoğulları pointed out that on these days, with the effect of the pandemic as well as hot weather, people might feel more tense, more uneasy and more intolerant, “We must be aware of these negative symptoms for our health. If we cannot control these negative emotions despite all the solutions, it will be useful to consult an expert for help".
