An Innovative Step in Academic Development

Cyprus International University (CIU) Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning launched the the program "Collaborative Learning Meetings" to support the professional development of academic staff. The program provides a methodical platform for sharing innovative approaches in education and improving teaching competencies.

Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Yalın, Director of the Center for Excellence in Education and Teaching, evaluated the program's contribution to academic development and said, "The effectiveness of collaborative learning in professional development programs has been proven. Our meetings enable academics to develop their teaching competencies through transfer of experiences they gain in class."

In the activities held within the scope of the program, strategies for creating an effective learning environment, academic writing techniques and modern approaches that facilitate learning were discussed. In the meetings to be held in the upcoming days, topics such as student-centered education methodologies and digital technology applications in education will be discussed.

This initiative constitutes one of the regularly designed approaches developed by CIU in line with its goal of continuously improving the quality of education. The program contributes to the strengthening of institutional knowledge while increasing the professional competencies of academics.
