Nearly 800 students graduated in Fall 2025 Ceremony
Nearly 800 students graduating from associate, undergraduate and graduate programs experienced the joy of receiving their diplomas at the Cyprus International University (CIU) 2024-2025 Academic Year Fall Semester Graduation Ceremony.
The graduation ceremony held at the CIU Çevik Uraz Center Conference Hall was attended by University Administration, Faculty Deans, Institute and School Directors, academic staff, as well as the families of the graduating students.
The ceremony began with the graduating students Yaren Kalın, from the Department of Special Education of the Faculty of Education, and Yusuf Opeyemi Ashimolowo, from the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, making speeches in Turkish and English on behalf of Class 2024.
In his opening speech, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri stated that the total number of graduates CIU produced since its inception exceeded 27 thousand including the nearly 800 students from 57 different countries graduating in the fall semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
Nadiri stated that Cyprus International University is ranked in the 601-800 band in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2025 World University Rankings, and emphasized that this is a reflection of the importance attached to excellence in academic research areas. Nadiri said, “This success is an indication of our commitment to advancing knowledge and developing an innovative environment.”
Nadiri also mentioned that the increasing importance of environmental awareness and sustainability places great responsibilities on universities; in addition, the outcome of the studies carried out by CIU within this perspective ranked 64th among 1477 universities worldwide in the Green Metrics World University Rankings in 2024.
Congratulating the graduates, Rector Nadiri said, “The education you receive at Cyprus International University provides you with the necessary knowledge and experience that would lead you to success. You have the potential and ability to overcome the obstacles you may encounter and achieve your goals. May your path be clear.”
Following the speeches, the first day of the ceremony was marked with the presentation of diplomas to graduating students of the Institute of Postgraduate Education-Teaching and Research, Faculty of Education, School of Physical Education and Sports, School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, Faculty of Engineering, School of Applied Sciences, and Vocational School.
On the second day of the CIU Fall Semester Graduation Ceremony, diplomas were presented to graduating students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Health Sciences, Vocational School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Communication, and Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture.
The graduation ceremony, which was also broadcast live on the university's official YouTube channel, ended with the graduates throwing their caps and group photo shoot.
