Students of CIU said hello to the summer with a water fight event

The Social Activities Coordinate that is connected to the Cyprus International University (CIU) Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC), organized a water fight event.

Advising that due to the Covid-19 pandemic the students experienced some tense days, CIU Social Activities Coordinator Selen Akün Kalaycı went on to advise, “Our students have experienced a tense year. Also, this week they participated in their semester examinations. In an effort to help them in relieving some stress, we organized such an event”.

Reminding that due to the Covid-19 measures the education was predominantly held online, Kalaycı continued “We are in a process where the students within the campus are less than normal. In such an environment, the water fight event motivated the students”.

Stating that the activity was organized at the Nature Cafe Pine Groves area as a Fun Day event, Selen Akün Kalaycı shared that it was worth seeing the student’s enjoyment.

Rümeysa Tüfekçi, who is the Social Activities Assistant Coordinator and Diving Club President, stated, “As it is an enjoyable event, the preparation process of this event was also enjoyable. It was the best gift after the semester end examinations”.

Drawing attention to the fact that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a majority of events have been held online and that for a long time an enjoyable event such as this has not been organized, Tüfekçi noted that a lot of morale has now been stored at the event in question.
