Summer Bootcamp at CIU

Computer Sciences Club, which functions under the Social Activities and Student Clubs Coordinators Office of Cyprus International University (CIU) Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC) initiated a boot-camp (accelerated courses) on "Digital Techniques" during the Summer School. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamil Yurtkan, from CIU Faculty of Engineering, stated that in cooperation with the Computer Sciences Club and the CIU Nigerian Student Union (NSU-CIU), they organized a boot-camp, which  lasted for 4 weeks, in which the cornerstones of the digital world were discussed and put into practice, so that students would not feel estranged from the digital world after they graduate or when they work as an intern at a company.

Dr. Yurtkan stated that  courses were designed to provide information on subjects such as "Graphic Design" and "Network Development", and noted that in order to increase the knowledge and skills of the students, panels have been organized.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yurtkan stated that the courses were organized with the aim of developing students' practical skills as well as theoretical knowledge, and said that students that participated in the boot-camp were  promarily from Computer Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Information Technologies, Computer Programming and Management Information Systems but there were some from other fields as well. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yurtkan said that the 115 students who attended all the courses will be given certificates at the end of the boot-camp.
