Violence against women also means violation of human rights
Stating that violence against women is unacceptable and is also a violation of human rights, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aylanç continued as follows: Prevention of violence against women is universally a requirement of human rights. The dignity, reputation and effectiveness of women in society are indicators of development and civilization.

In addition to being a day determined by the United Nations as the “day of combating violence against women”, 25th November is also the anniversary of the violence against women due to the shame against humanity and history, with the murdering of the Mirabal sisters, who were brutally murdered on 25th November, 1960, who have become one of the symbolic figures for the struggle of women for human rights today.

‘Awareness of Violence Against Women’ program
Aylanç pointed out that, as UKAMER, they carry out activities and events to empower women in every field and to have a voice, and said that as a university, they will evaluate the dimensions of violence in the country with the "Awareness of Violence Against Women" program.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Aylanç stated that it is important to develop "awareness of violence", to understand how violence occurs and how it infiltrates all areas of life, in order to prevent violence against women, within the framework of the violence awareness of all addictive relations that dominate women, exclude women in the economic, social and political spheres, and weaken women's identity.

Reminding that sexist, discriminatory values, rules and traditions should be questioned, Aylanç also said that the way to reduce violence against women is to increase women's visibility in public and private spheres, to increase their social position, and to ensure gender equality.
