The aim of the Department of Economy is to provide students with the skills to comprehend, interpret and analyze the current economic phenomena. In the center of the program, students are expected to gain a perspective on how they can analyze economic developments at a national or global scale, and learn how to use the necessary tools. The department also aims to educate economists that are prepared for global competition. During the undergraduate program, students are educated as individuals, who have acquired technical and anatomy skills, in the field of economics and have awareness of their social responsibility; and have problem-solving skills.
The medium of instruction for the program is English and it provides students with the necessary skills needed for analysis and quantitative research, as well as theoretical and practical tools necessary to follow rapid changes in the financial markets.
Graduates of the Department of Economics can work as qualified individuals, who are desired in the public and private sector. They may work as an inspector, auditor or expert after attending exams given by various ministries. Public and private banks, research institutions, and national or international companies are also institutions where graduates may find employment. In addition, they can continue their academic career by pursuing a postgraduate degree.
