Nowadays, medical engineers play an important role in developing new techniques and devices to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases as well as the design, production and transfer of artificial organ for humans and animals in the developing medical field. Theoretical and applied engineering sciences provide a bridge between health and life and medical engineering covers interdisciplinary topics such as medicine, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical-electronics engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, etc. The medium of instruction is English and many of the theoretical courses are supported by project, practical components and internship programs.
The Medical Engineering Undergraduate Program aims to provide services for human and animal life in medicine by utilizing new technologies. The four-year-curriculum offers basic science courses such as physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and materials science as well as electrical engineering courses such as static dynamics, digital logic design, electromagnetic theory, circuit theory, mechatronics, signal and image processes; medical courses such as clinical engineering, tissue design and medical device design. Thus, a bridge is formed between the fields of engineering and applied medicine.
