CIU Hackathon 2024 Event

Navigating CIU's campus can be tricky, especially for newcomers. The challenge was to design tools and technologies that help students, staff, and visitors easily locate classrooms, buildings, and specific entrances. From digital maps to augmented reality apps, the solutions presented were as diverse as they were impressive.

The hackathon began on December 10, 2024, with postgraduate participants who showcased their talent and problem-solving abilities. The next day, December 11, 2024, saw undergraduate teams take the stage, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. Each team worked tirelessly to present their solutions, with guidance from expert mentors and evaluation from a distinguished jury.

The event culminated on December 12, 2024, with a vibrant Award Ceremony that celebrated the hard work of all participants. The ceremony included an Opening Speech, followed by Undergraduate and Graduate Presentations, where teams presented their innovative solutions to the jury and audience. In recognition of their invaluable contributions, certifications were presented to the juries and mentors. After much anticipation, the winners were announced, with awards given to the top teams from both the undergraduate and postgraduate categories.

On Day 1, postgraduate teams worked with expert mentors to brainstorm and develop their solutions, which were evaluated by a distinguished panel of jurors. After intense sessions, three teams emerged as finalists.

On Day 2, the energy was palpable as fifteen undergraduate teams showcased their creativity and technical skills. The teams presented outstanding solutions to the campus navigation challenge, and three teams were selected as finalists for their exceptional ideas.
