Civil Engineering Accreditation
The mission of the Cyprus International University Civil Engineering Department is to train engineers who can produce solutions to regional and national problems, who are competitive, who take part in projects that will lead in raising the quality of life of the society they live in, who are committed to contemporary and ethical values, and who are aware of global developments.

PO1: Acquire necessary knowledge in mathematics, science and civil engineering and the ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to model and solve complex engineering problems.
PO2: Acquire the ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex civil engineering problems by choosing and applying appropriate analysis and modeling methods.
PO3: Acquire the ability to design a complex system, process, device or product related to civil engineering under realistic constraints and conditions and meet specific requirements by applying modern design methods.
PO4: Acquire the ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in civil engineering practices; be able to use information technologies effectively.
PO5: To be able to design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret the results of complex civil engineering problems or discipline-specific research topics.
PO6: Acquire the ability to work effectively in disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams as well as the skills to work individually.
PO7: Acquire the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written language of instruction, and learn at least one foreign language, to be able to write and understand reports, to prepare design and production reports, to make effective presentations, to give clear instructions and understand the given instructions.
PO8: By understanding the necessity of lifelong learning; acquire the ability to access knowledge, monitor developments in science and technology, and constantly renew their knowledge.
PO9: Abide by the ethical principles, acquire professional and ethical responsibility and learn about the standards used in engineering applications.
PO10: Acquire the knowledge about project management and practices in business life such as risk management and change management; be knowledgeable about entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development.
PO11: Acquire the knowledge on the effects of civil engineering practices on health, environment and safety considering the universal and social dimensions and current problems; be knowledgeable about the legal consequences of possible engineering solutions.
- Carry out and develop the civil engineering profession at local, national, international companies or public institutions or by establishing their own engineering company.
- In their workplaces, they work for and achieve a decision-making position such as chief, manager, expert, etc.
- Improves self by such means as graduate study abroad or vocational training.
