Dean of Students

At Cyprus International University (CIU), one of the main objectives of CIU is to provide students with a quality university experience and a qualified education. Student-centred studies that are carried out in line with this purpose will contribute to the sustainability of student satisfaction at the highest level at the university. The main purpose of the CIU Dean of Students Office is to increase students’ satisfaction with life on campus with a student-oriented approach and to organise social, cultural, artistic, professional and sportive activities for their personal development. The Dean of Students Office also aims to ensure the effective functioning of student clubs and societies, increase students’ life skills and personal equipment, create multicultural environments where various activities will be exhibited, realise social responsibility projects, and develop a sense of institutional belonging.

Student Development and Counselling Centre Directorate and Social Events and Clubs Coordination are units under the Dean of Students Office.

• To contribute to the social and cultural development of students through social/cultural activities and club activities that increase motivation and institutional belonging within the university in order to increase student satisfaction,
• Working in cooperation with the Rectorate to develop social responsibility and social awareness projects for students to develop themselves in academic, cultural and social fields,
• To lead the organisation of activities that will enable them to gain added value and acquire skills that will create positive development,
• Listening to and analysing students' academic, social, administrative and personal problems related to university life and making suggestions for solving the problems in coordination with the relevant academic administrative units and the student council,
• To make the necessary arrangements to reward students' academic, personal, cultural and social achievements,
• To carry out studies to improve the quality of campus life for students,
• To plan and carry out orientation activities for new students to get to know and adapt to university life,
• Carry out studies in coordination with academic units to create a more effective and efficient learning environment and improve the quality of education and training.
