Program Mission

The mission of CIU Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program is to train/equip engineers with research and problem-solving skills, who can continuously improve themselves and work for the benefit of society, with an education system in accordance with universal criteria, adopting lifelong learning and continuous improvement as a principle. Besides, the program is dedicated to contribute to the development of the society with its main characteristics of problem-solving.

Program Outcomes

PO1: Adequate knowledge on mathematics, Science and Industrial Engineering; ability to apply this theoretical and practical knowledge to solve the complex Industrial Engineering problems;
PO2: Ability to identify, describe, formulate and solve complex Industrial Engineering problems; ability to select and apply convenient analysis and modelling methods;
PO3: Ability to design a complex system, process, equipment or product underrealistic constraints and conditions and so as to cover certain requirements; and ability to practice modern design methods in conformance with this objective;
PO4: Ability to develop, select and utilize modern techniques and tools for solving complex problems encountered in Industrial Engineering applications; ability to utilize information technologies effectively;
PO5: Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to collect, analyze and interpret data for complex engineering problems and Industrial Engineering problems;
PO6: Ability to function effectively within Industrial Engineering and multidisciplinary teams; ability to implement individual work;
PO7: Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal form and in the language of instruction; ability to write effective reports and understand written reports, to prepare design and production reports, to make effective presentations, to give and receive clear and understandable instructions;
PO8: Recognition of the need for life-long learning; ability to access information, to follow the developments in science and technology, and to continuous self-renewal;
PO9: An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility knowledge;
PO10: Knowledge of business practices such as project management, risk management and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development.
PO11: Awareness on the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering applications on health, environment and safety in a global and societal context; knowledge of contemporary issues; awareness of the legal impact of engineering solutions.

Educational Goals
  • To work as an engineer or manager in a public or private company in areas related to their profession,
  • To carry out academic studies by completing graduate and doctorate studies at nationally or internationally recognized universities and/or to work as a researcher in research centers in the public or private sector,
  • Establishing and managing his/her own business in order to engage in production activities and/or to provide consultancy services in line with the requirements of the manufacturing and/or production sectors.
