A faculty member from CIU Faculty of Law at the world’s most prestigious litigation competition
Assist. Prof. Dr Mustafa Erçakıca, faculty member in the Faculty of Law of Cyprus International University (CIU) took part as a judge in the 2022 Turkish National Moot Court Competition held under the umbrella of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition which is the most prestigious advocacy competition for law students.
Erçakıca was invited as a judge to the 2022 Turkish National Moot Court Competition held online on March 4-6, 2022. The Jessup 2022 concerns human rights on the internet, data theft, the secession of part of a nation’s territory, and foreign election interference.
Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition is considered the most prestigious and well-established hypothetical litigation competition which is hosted by the International Law Students Association. Erçakıca added that all participating countries will complete in their own national moot court competitions and the World Championship Tour will be held in the United States of America on April 9, 2022.
Assist.Prof. Dr. Mustafa Erçakıca said with participants from 700 Law Schools in 100 countries Jessup is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations.
