The Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation within the Faculty of Health Sciences, at Cyprus International University (CIU) continues the process of accreditation at full speed.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Özalp, Head of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation department, said that the application has been made to the 'Health Sciences Curriculum Assessment and Accreditation Association’ (SABAK) in Turkey for the accreditation of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program, which was initiated on July 12th, 2018.
Özalp said that the program training objectives, curriculum, syllabus and course content improvements and innovations have been made within the framework of the criteria set by SABAK in accordance with the views and demands of internal and external stakeholders.
“To contribute to the academic development of faculty members, we have started hosting in-house seminars”, said Özalp.
Özalp said that the SABAK accreditation that will be taken as a result of the evaluation will contribute greatly to student’s satisfaction, increase the employment opportunities of graduates and facilitate the exchange of students and faculty members between universities. She also stated that the committee will visit them in November 2019.
